Our Puppy Adoption Process

At Jenny’s Minis & More, our goal is to ensure every puppy is matched with the right family for a lifetime of love and happiness. We take great pride in raising healthy, well-socialized puppies and believe that choosing a puppy should be an enjoyable, personal experience—not a rushed one.

Step 1: Initial Contact

Once you’ve found a puppy you’re interested in, or if you’re looking for guidance in choosing the right puppy, contact us by phone, text, Facebook, or through our website. We’ll answer any questions you have about our puppies, breeding program, health testing, temperament, and what you can expect throughout the adoption process.

Step 2: Phone Interview

We schedule a phone conversation to get to know you and your family. This isn’t meant to be intimidating—it’s simply an opportunity for us to learn more about your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a companion.

During our conversation, we’ll discuss:

• Your experience with dogs.
• Your family, children, and other pets.
• Your daily routine and activity level.
• Whether you’re looking for a family companion, therapy prospect, or future performance dog.
• Grooming, training, and exercise expectations.
• Any questions or concerns you may have.

Our goal is to make sure one of our puppies will be the perfect fit for your home.

Step 3: Finding Your Perfect Puppy

Every puppy has its own unique personality. Some are adventurous and outgoing, while others are calm, affectionate, and easygoing.

We’ll help match you with the puppy that best fits your lifestyle based on:

• Energy level.
• Temperament.
• Size expectations.
• Coat type and grooming needs.
• Color preferences (when available).
• Your family dynamic and living situation.

Our priority is making the best lifelong match rather than simply choosing based on appearance alone.

Step 4: Video Chat & Puppy Visit

We know many of our families are located outside our local area.

We are happy to schedule a live video call so you can:

• Meet the available puppies.
• Watch them play and interact.
• See their personalities in real time.
• Ask questions while viewing them.
• Meet the parents when available.

Video chats allow families to feel confident in their decision before placing a deposit or making travel arrangements.

Step 5: Reserving Your Puppy

Once you’ve selected your puppy, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve them.

Your deposit:

• Holds your puppy until they are ready to go home.
• Is applied toward the total purchase price.
• Confirms your commitment to adopting your puppy.
• Is non-refundable.

If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from moving forward, your deposit may be transferred to a future litter. You will be placed on our waiting list for the next available litter. While we do our best to accommodate your preferences, first pick of the next litter cannot be guaranteed and depends on reservation order and availability.

Step 6: Puppy Updates

After your puppy is reserved, you’ll receive regular updates as they grow, including:

• New photos.
• Videos.
• Weight updates.
• Development milestones.
• Health and veterinary updates.
• Estimated go-home timeline.

Watching your puppy grow before pickup is one of the most exciting parts of the journey!

Step 7: Pickup or Delivery Planning

As your puppy’s go-home date approaches, we’ll work together to finalize pickup or delivery arrangements.

Local Pickup

Families are welcome to pick up their puppy by appointment. We’ll review your puppy’s care instructions, answer any final questions, and make sure you feel confident bringing your new family member home.

Delivery

Delivery may be available depending on your location for an additional fee. We will coordinate a safe meeting location or discuss delivery options that work best for both parties.

Step 8: Go-Home Day

Before leaving for their new home, every puppy will:

• Receive age-appropriate vaccinations.
• Be dewormed on schedule.
• Receive a complete health examination by our veterinarian.
• Go home with health records.
• Be well-socialized and accustomed to everyday household life.

Our Commitment

Our relationship doesn’t end when your puppy goes home. We’re always happy to answer questions and provide guidance throughout your puppy’s life. Whether you need advice on training, grooming, nutrition, or general care, we’re here to help.
